These wide-mouth (4″ opening) large glass jars (1-gallon) come with a plastic lid to prevent corrosion. They work great for making medium-size batches of sauerkraut and pickled vegetables, miso or any other fermented foods. Capped with a cloth, they are ideal for brewing kombucha, jun or vinegar as they allow the SCOBY to grow with a large surface exposed to oxygen. And for general bulk food storage, they are a good alternative to plastic or metal containers!
